Every work which he began in the service of the house of God in law and in commandment, seeking his God, he did with all his heart and prospered.
2 Chronicles 31:21 NASB
Today’s reflection is a breath of fresh air, after days of being occupied by work I get to meditate on this simple yet very meaningful verse.
The passage is about Hezekiah implementing reforms in the temple as he led his people back to following the Lord. Everything Hezekiah did during that time had sprung from his devotion to God. With the right motive, God made him prosper.
As I reflect about how I would relate this verse to my life, my appreciation on knowing that my body is God’s temple has grew deeper. Therefore, it becomes clear that everything I do must be according to God’s law and commandments, that I should seek Him in every situation where I am in regardless of whether good or bad. And with all my heart, to follow the Lord by my obedience to His Word and keep His ways as my end goal. With God, I will prosper according to His faithfulness as the Lord Jesus Christ had started and will complete His work on me.
Soli Deo Gloria!
